Here a peep. There a peep. In my mouth a peep peep.

I love their peepness.
their marshmallowy insides.
their sprinkly outside.
their bright yellow suit.
the way they stand so tall and proud.
and their special brown eyes that look up
from their package at me and say
"Pick me. Let me be your peep."

And since I certainly can't pick just one...
only because that would be rude and for no other reason.....
I eat the whole coop.

I eat their brown dotted eyes first.
I don't know why.
I always wonder if they are chocolate.
They never are.

But I always give it a try
just in case things are different.

And then I gobble the rest up in no particular order.

I once found three peeps
sitting in a chocolate boat.
They drowned
Because I ate them.
And then I ate their boat.

Peeps mixed with chocolate?
Definitely made it into the top 20 food experiences....

Anyway, I gladly welcome seasonal candy treats.
Especially this season.
The one that comes after the-hard-to-follow
Valentines extravaganza....

Enter the famous Easter treats....
Cadbury eggs.
(yes, regular and mini)
Peanut butter cup eggs.
Jelly bean eggs.

and of course,
the star of this post....
and not an egg at all....
the peep.

he may be small.
he may not have chocolate eyes.
he may need a nose job.

but he's my peep.
and he has stolen my heart.

I'm just wondering....

Does anyone else celebrate everything with food?

I found out today I have a snow day tomorrow.
My instant reaction was not
"Yay- I'm going to work out and clean tomorrow!"
"Oh great- I was hoping to cut some fruits and vegetables for the week"

No- it was something like....

"Awesome! Pizza to celebrate! And let's order a large so we keep on celebrating tomorrow!"

Possibly this is why I lose weight as slow as turtles win races.

Actually, I lose weight quickly.
But I gain it quickly back.

I say "Farwell" to one pound on Monday.
I say "Back so soon?" on Tuesday.
I say "See ya later sucker." on Wednesday.
Then on Thursday I say to that pound,
"You brought all your friends with you?
Why? I didn't mean to eat the whole thing."

except I did mean to eat the whole thing.

because I eat food to celebrate like hallmark sells cards.

and that's a lot.
true story.

And just as I am ending this blog post,
my husband is arriving with pizza.
The celebration must begin
and it can't begin without me.

So excuse me while I stuff my face
with greasy, cheesy, doughy
pizza loving.

Monday, February 8

I did not cry with happiness
and giggle with glee
when I found a Reese's Fastbreak
in my glovebox from my sweet husband..

I knew I was "counting points" and this would be a lot of points.

So I put it back in the glovebox and
drove the final mile on my way to teach piano.

I certainly did not open that bad boy
And chomp down on that chocolate
and peanut butter.

all that creamy dreamy loving.
my oh my.

I didn't eat it in record time.
And say "Power is mine!"
as I swallowed the sugary goodness.

I didn't let the hard work I did at the gym this morning
go to waste.
Skinny was worth it.

I acted completely like me.

Always able to pass up a chocolate bar.
Always able to stay within my points.
Never getting emotional at chocolate.
And never saying "yes" to temptation.

And if you feel like you can't believe me,
You will never know if I am telling the truth.
Because I always clean out the trash in my car.
It's always spic and span in there.

Just please never ask for a ride.
Especially tonight.
My friend has eaten a lot of food in my car lately.

My friend who isn't me.

And I've taken out all the trash.
Basically, my car is too clean.
It would hurt your eyes.

*she does not escape to her car and hide the Fast Break wrapper.
just in case you ask for a ride.
she does not lick the wrapper clean first.
she is not a pig.
she is not obsessed with food.
not her.
not me.*

Love Mckmama too?
Go ahead and "Not Me Monday" yourselves out.

Welcome to Not Me! Monday! This blog carnival was created by MckMama. You can head over to her blog to read what she and everyone else have not been doing this week.
